Winter is over at last.  Gone are the frigid temperatures and the four letter word (snow) from the forecast.  After removing the hats and scarves, you may, like me, find you have a case of winter weary hair.

Despite my winter regiment of weekly moisturizing, all I got in return was a dry flaky scalp.  I also noticed that my cute (wool blend) hat has left me with breakage around the edges of my hair.

Don’t worry!  Now that we are in full-fledged spring fever mode, it’s time to take off those hats and scarves and let our hair breathe.  We can revitalize and rejuvenate our hair by moisturizing and deep conditioning and bring it back to life faster than you can say pollen season.  So, here are a few tips that work for me and maybe they will work for you.

  1. Shampoo your hair.
  2. Combine a little Cholesterol hair conditioning cream with Elucence moisture balance conditioner, saturate the hair.
  3. Sit under a hair steamer, but if a hair steamer is not available, you can also cover your hair with a plastic cap and sit under a hair dryer for 20 minutes.  Next rinse thoroughly and lastly, style hair as desired.

Although it has been a while…a long while…hot summer temperatures are also on the way.  As temperatures rise, plan ahead and let’s consider those cute summer hats and scarves to protect our hair from the sun’s damaging rays.  It will also be important to maintain our hair regiment using the suggestions offered above.

Next on LET’S TALK HAIR, we will be talking about the newest, hottest summer color trends.  Until then…
